This unlikely episode from Devki Pande's family history became the starting point for The Imitation Englishman, a novel that takes us into a fascinating, yet lesser-known chapter of Indian history. At the launch of her book, Devki will be in conversation with Ponnu Elizabeth Mathew, author of The Remnants of Rebellion, another novel inspired by an incident from her family history.
