Inspired by the philosophical concept of Ardhanarishvara, the play highlights the importance of humanity, equality and dignity beyond gender distinctions. Questioning the gap between the ideals that society worships and the values it practises in everyday life, the play conveys a powerful message that every individual's existence deserves respect. Vilasavilladavaru is not merely a story about a mysterious death. It is a theatrical exploration that questions the conscience of society.
