Raga Samvada: A Pre-Diwali Jugalbandi

the deets

Rāga Samvāda is a specially conceived pre-Diwali jugalbandi bringing Hindustani vocal and Carnatic violin into an active, evolving dialogue. Rather than presenting the two traditions in parallel, the concert explores their points of convergence and contrast through shared ragas, improvisatory exchange, rhythmic interplay, and differing approaches to melodic development. With tabla, mridangam and harmonium completing the ensemble, the program moves across khayal, instrumental dialogue, tarana, and lighter classical forms, creating a presentation that is rooted in tradition yet dynamic, intimate and distinctly contemporary in its conception.
